Make your beats come true

BAMASABA CULTURAL CENTRE

Who are we?

We are Bamasaba cultural centre, the home of talented youth and children. Our group is focused on the promotion, development and the preservation of traditional local culture, as well as HIV/AIDS awareness, sponsoring education for impoverished youths and eradicating poverty from our community through music, dance and drama. Our group started on the 24th of August, 2015. At the beginning we only had five members, but now we are 42, 22 women and 20 men from 17-32 years old.

What we do?

We provide cultural entertainment for all sorts of functions, like dinner in hotels, public functions, state functions, weddings, introductions, birthday parties and so on, all with the best quality performers. Through this we manage to buy our own musical instruments and costumes. The group gives large contributions to the local communities. Currently the  group sponsors itself from the small income that we get from thesefunctions. Through this we have been able to fund school fees for young children in primary school.

What we need?

We are seeking 55,000$ to establish a cultural home/centre for about 100 + people, including children in need and homeless, the expansion of the project will increase our income and help adults by sponsoring higher levels of education. This will improve the status of youth and children and also attract tourists.

Why do we do this?

Our vision is to enlighten the youth and community to work, save, protect and preserve culture, while eradicating poverty through self employment. Our mission is to improve young lives through identifying and developing skills in the dynamic world through cultural music, dance and drama.

USE OF FUNDS

The funds will go to the purchase of cultural instruments, a music system / amplification, transport means and a home / training site of our own to establish a stable home environment, accommodation of poor youths and children from poor families. The education and security of all members that we have and those we wish to have. If we have these, we shall save more and get more clients and help more the youths and children. With the shows we have performed we have managed to buy a few instruments for a start and pay school fees for a few children. Therefore we look forward to help many of the children and youths in all levels of education. This can be improved if we get all the materials and equipments that we lack. Just like our aim of restoring youth confidence, pride, dignity and promoting a universal respect and understanding through developing, preserving and respecting all cultural activities, we need the following equipments / items;

ACCOMMODATION

This is where we need the homeless children and youths are to stay to solve the problem of homeless youths and children, renting the training ground and insecurity of our properties and the members too.

TRANSPORT

We have a challenge of transporting the performers to areas of operation where the little income we get from shows is divided, part to cater for transport most especially for long journeys and some special occasions where we could benefit but we are always limited to transport. A vehicle is the most appropriate mean of transport since it is easy to carry both performers and instruments.

ADMINISTRATION

This is a key area that runs all activities in and outside the project of which at the end need an appreciation which keeps them motivated since they have got other responsibilities is a bit challenging. We need enough funds to run daily activities of the group.

The above items will play a big role in producing quality music and dance and preserving our culture. This will also help the youths and the children to learn very fast and acquire skills they need since the instruments will be available. This will also help us save more income for opening up other projects in future.

The success in forming the troupe was backed by the excellent ability to organise and setup the well organized group of talented, disciplined and energetic youths, and children. Since its formation, the troupe has only been able to exist due to its strong rooted foundation on a God fearing Group of People.
